Gen Z artists making their way in the Music Industry

Updated: Mar 1, 2021

There are a lot of talented people out there, but this girl has got a unique way about her, and I'm here for it. Lily Forte is a 19-year-old singer who began honing her craft at the age of 8-years-old. She currently lives in West Palm Beach, Florida, where the sun is always shining, and the creative juices are always flowing. Growing up, Lily had the support she needed in order for her to be successful in making her music a full-time gig. Her mother is her biggest fan, who is always there to cheer her on while pursuing music. She also had an influence on her music because Carole King was always playing in their house. Lily says "my inspiration came from Carole King's ability to gift a listener with one of the greatest things a songwriter can do: make them feel as though the song was written for them".

Lily met and started working with her now friend, Dylan Thomas, who is the music producer for all her songs. She works with him in his studio located in his mother's law firm office. Talk about the law firm by day, music studio by night! It was then she began the creation of her songs. She wrote every single one of them, and Dylan was the mastermind behind the production. Between the two of them, they worked endless hours to create pieces that everyone would love and appreciate. Their hard work has paid off as well! One of her earlier releases, "I was wearing green," hit over 40,000 streams, and now her latest single, "Loose-fitting levis," is also getting some traction as well. It's a song that makes you think about the crush that was just a little too out of reach. You work as much as you can to get the guy, but it doesn't compare to the girl wearing the loose levis. Yep, I can totally relate.

Her career is just getting started! Lily plans on releasing another single before releasing her EP. This girl has such a different sound; you can't help but love her tune. It's a beat you listen to in coffeeshops, late-night studying, and literally any other time of day. If you like indie-pop with a mix of a bluesy feeling, then head over to her Spotify. You know I'm gonna link it, so check her out!
